Sidekick SAP Generators

Everything you need to add the Second Audio Program (SAP) channel to a TV station is contained in one complete package. TV Sidekick features a sync-lockable subcarrier generator, noise reduction encoding, audio processing and a peak deviation meter in one box.
It fully conforms to BTSC and FCC specifications for a SAP generator. It includes a subcarrier whose average frequency can be locked to five times horizontal sync and remain locked, regardless of the modulating signal. TV Sidekick also has an audio bandwidth of 50 Hz-10 kHz and an integrated audio processor that eliminates the need for an external processor, plus a tuning aid to minimize synchronous AM.


TV Sidekick allows easy integration with a station's stereo TV audio and is compatible with all aural exciters. It connects via a composite aural "loop through" method of feeding the composite baseband through and mixing it with the SAP subcarrier which then drives the wideband input of the aural exciter. Or, alternately, a separate high level SAP signal can feed the "SCA" or auxiliary input of many aural exciters as well as Modulation Sciences TSG Television Stereo Generator.
