Modulation Sciences CLD-2500

The CLD-2500 Wired STL fills a need many FM stations have of keeping processing equipment separate from the transmitter environment. It allows stations to send its stereo composite baseband signal over long lengths of inexpensive transmission line. Made up of a driver and receiver, the CLD-2500 can easily operate with 2500 feet of cable. One driver can feed two separate runs of different lengths, each with its own receiver.


The CLD-2500 system consists of a high current, balanced, impedance-matched driver that couples to twinax line. At the receiver end, the cable is terminated and an active circuit translates the balanced twinax circuit to a coax drive suitable for the short run to the exciter.


By transmitting the composite signal over long runs of cable, the CLD-2500 removes restrictions on the location of critical equipment within the technical plant. This flexibility adds to the efficiency of the technical environment and makes maintenance and adjustment of equipment easier.


The CLD-2500 is easy to set up and operate and is highly immune to RF of all frequencies. Plus it supports separation and signal-to-noise ratio exceeding that of most stereo generators. It is truly FM radio's "missing link."
